Manitoulin Transport said it’s expanding its terminal on Richan Road in Dryden.

In a news release, the Gore Bay-headquartered motor carrier said it’s expanding its service in the northwestern Ontario community to better serve its customers.

The company is having almost 10,000-square feet grafted onto the building and increasing capacity to 19 doors. The expansion includes LED lighting, new air-powered dock levelers, better insulation for improved efficiency, and a new metal ramp to facilitate safer loading.

"Dryden’s upgraded terminal demonstrates Manitoulin's ongoing commitment to rural communities," said company president Jeff King in a statement.

"With more than 85 terminals, Manitoulin continues to provide access to reliable transportation, technology, equipment, and service to our customers across Canada. The synergies created by the Manitoulin Group and all of its resources enable us to provide customized and flexible services that complete our customers’ supply chain."
