Porter Airlines is partnering with Pascan Aviation to enable more connections for travellers, including those in Northern Ontario.
Pascan is headquartered at the Montreal Metropolitan Airport and operates daily scheduled flights within Quebec and the Maritimes, connecting regional communities to larger city centres.
Examples of newly available connecting routes in Northern Ontario include Sault Ste. Marie to Bonaventure, Que., and Gaspe, Que., to Timmins.
The companies said travellers would primarily make connections in airports in Halifax and Quebec City, although other hubs would serve as secondary options.
“Porter’s new partnership with Pascan means improved service and more choices for passengers across North America who travel through regional Eastern Canada,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice-president and chief commercial officer of Porter Airlines, in a March 26 news release.
“The upcoming opening of the new terminal at Montreal Metropolitan Airport, which Porter and Pascan will both operate flights from, will further grow this partnership and provide opportunities for travellers to connect seamlessly across the continent.”
“This partnership along with the opening of the new terminal is truly amazing. We have been waiting for this kind of project here at the Montreal Metropolitan Airport since 2004,” added Yani Gagnon, co-owner at Pascan Aviation.
“This will open up a whole new range of opportunities that will greatly benefit our mutual clientele.”
In Northern Ontario, Porter flies regularly scheduled service out of Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Timmins, and Thunder Bay.
