Travellers will have more opportunities to fly between Thunder Bay and Toronto’s Pearson International Airport this summer.
Porter Airlines has announced it’s increasing jet service along this route, upping the number of round-trip flights to seven, from the current three, starting May 1.
It’s one of 16 domestic routes the airline said it’s updating over its peak summer operations.
“Our goal is to fly where our customers want to travel, and this is a moment Canada is at the top of many people’s list,” said Kevin Jackson, president of Porter Airlines, in a news release.
“We are adding routes and increasing flights in regions across the country to meet this demand.”
Of the flights in its summer schedule, 80 per cent are domestic, Porter said. That’s up from 75 per cent in its original summer plan, following “targetted frequency reduction in select U.S. markets.”
Porter announced jet service for its Thunder Bay-to-Pearson route last August with the introduction of its 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Guests using Porter jet service can enjoy perks including no middle seats, complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, free premium snacks, and free WiFi.
