A Quebec junior exploration company is encouraged by recent results from gold exploration efforts near Matheson. Tom Exploration Inc. tested four bulk samples from the Lalonde Gold Property in Munro Township, which indicate they have found substantial gold deposits in the area. The samples yielded 61.29 ounces per tonne, 75.16 ounces per tonne, 0.006 ounces per tonne and 2.21 ounces per tonne, an official with the company says. The property is within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, which historically has hosted a number of gold mines. The company is continuing with exploration projects on the property before pursuing a mine feasibility study.
