Lumber mill issues layoffs (6/02)

Two hundred unionized workers at Thunder Bay's Great West Timber lumber mill have been laid off indefinitely due to a shortage of long-length logs. A return-to-work date has not been set yet, according to a spokesman for the company.

Two hundred unionized workers at Thunder Bay's Great West Timber lumber mill have been laid off indefinitely due to a shortage of long-length logs. A return-to-work date has not been set yet, according to a spokesman for the company. The lumber company has about 400 unionized workers.
