Pele Mountain Resources Inc. has recovered 96 commercial-size diamonds from its first 100-tonne bulk sample extracted from its Festival Property, located about 25 kilometres north of Wawa. The Canadian mining and exploration and development company launched an aggressive diamond exploration program in 2001, resulting in the discovery of at least five large diamond-bearing volcanic complexes. The findings of the bulk sample confirm the existence of macro diamonds and a strong potential for an economic diamond deposit at the Festival Property location, an official with the company says.
