Seeking to develop an international-relations strategy, the City of Sault Ste. Marie has retained local development consultant Doug Clute to explore and maintain international growth opportunities.
Clute will receive $30,000 to develop the strategy under the direction of the municipality's international relations strategy committee to ensure local businesses are export-ready. Areas under consideration are partnership opportunities, targeted business development goals with sister cities and promotion of educational opportunities abroad.
