Canadore College in North Bay has launched a new entrepreneurship hub.
The Caisse Populaire Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Employer Services Hub is home to the North Bay On-Campus Entrepreneurship Activities (OCEA) program. Various initiatives foster and encourage an overall sense of entrepreneurial development within the Canadore community through awareness, educational activities and events.
“Today’s employers are looking for people that will bring entrepreneurial mindsets and skills to add value to their organizations,” said Mary O’Farrell-Bowers, vice-president of academic, in a release.
“The services, resources, programs, and opportunities for collaboration will spur innovation within existing organizations and promote small business startups. Our students, employees and community will all benefit.”
The centre was named for Caisse Populaire North Bay, which contributed a $35,000 donation to create a scholarship to support small business startups.
“Our community has so many bright and talented youth just waiting to realize their potential,” Caisse general manager Norman St. Amour in the release.
“But you can’t achieve success without a supporting cast around you. We are very excited to be a part of the team that will help our young people thrive in their careers.”
The Caisse E-Hub provides regional youth with access to grants, events, workshops, mentorship programs, collaborative workspace, resources, internship and networking opportunities, and more.
