The Ontario Black Bear Association predicts an even bigger problem with nuisance black bears next summer. The provincial government will soon be announcing its study on black bears and pending results of the study the province may consider reinstating the spring bear hunt.
Tourist outfitters have estimated that the northwest economy has lost about $40 million annually in revenue due to the spring bear hunt cancellation.
