Innovative tools are constantly being developed for the mining industry to make sure Canadian mines are operating using cutting-edge technology.  When it comes to connecting mining operations with companies in the mining supply and services sector, however, one of the most innovative business-to-business marketing tools in operation can now be found exclusively on the website of MineConnect.

“Find A Supplier” is the aptly named digital search tool being made available by MineConnect, a member-lead association comprised of Northern Ontario mining suppliers. And according to the association’s Executive Director, Paul Bradette, the tool is specifically crafted to meet the needs of mining companies around the world looking to northern Ontario as a leading source of mining supplies and services.

“What we’ve developed is a free tool to make their life easier when mine operators. EPCM’s and contractors are trying to source out technology that’s available from our membership,” said Bradette. “We have 12 easily-navigated categories of what can be found, from underground mining equipment to innovative digital technology.”

Since launching in 2003 as an association catering to the Northern Ontario mining industry, MineConnect has grown to the point where it currently represents 180 members, all with a business footprint in Northern Ontario. Promoting its brand with the Vision Statement “Suppliers of choice to the world,” MineConnect and its members offer a variety of innovative mining supplies and services in the following 12 categories:

  • Blasting
  • Bulk Handling Equipment
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Environmental
  • Health and Safety
  • Fixed Mining Equipment
  • Automation and Software
  • Ventilation
  • Mobile Mining Equipment
  • Consulting
  • Mine Construction and Development
  • Battery-Powered Electric Vehicles

“There isn’t a single aspect of mine development and operations that our membership can’t handle,” said Bradette. “The tool makes it easy to source out solutions available from within the Association. That way they can keep current with any of the technologies within any of those categories. Our members are constantly updating their profiles.”

Given the importance of the mining industry to Northern Ontario – the mining supply and services sector employs roughly 23,000 northerners with total revenues of over $7 billion – it’s easy to see why MineConnect has crafted such an innovative tool for use by companies seeking supply and services developed by northern Ontario companies.

“The evolution of our organization continues, and with the “Find A Supplier” tool we can now offer a stronger value proposition,” said Bradette. “Every tactic and marketing vehicle we use is in support of helping members grow their businesses. That’s our primary mandate and will always be top of mind.”
