The Société Économique de l’Ontario (SÉO), the Centre de santé communautaire du Grand Sudbury and the Northern Ontario Francophone Immigration Support Network are organizing the second edition of the Foire de l'emploi francophone du Grand Sudbury from February 22 to 24, 2023.
The goal of the event is to connect employers with Francophone and bilingual job seekers.
It also targets permanent and temporary residents of the City of Greater Sudbury or elsewhere who have a study permit or work permit, as well as foreign nationals who wish to immigrate to Canada and who may wish to settle in the City of Greater Sudbury.
Atypical and original format
This fair will offer a format that combines both speed dating and meet-and-greet. With this format, each employer will have 20 minutes to introduce themselves. Then, each employer will meet with the job seekers in bursts for 50 minutes.
This event is organized by key players in immigration and employability in the Northern Ontario region. With their expertise and experience, this fair is a real time saver and quality for the employer and the job seeker.
A real success at the 1st edition
With the massive retirement of the baby boomers and other factors, the erosion of the workforce is becoming increasingly evident in all sectors in Greater Sudbury. One of the solutions is to call upon qualified workers who are able to speak French, English or both.
Last year's fair was a real boost for the City of Greater Sudbury. Over 20 employers and approximately 400 job seekers participated in the first edition. On average, 45 job seekers attended each of the employer presentations and close to 100 quick meetings followed the presentations.
