Kinross Gold Corp. has set its sights on expanding its gold resources in the Timmins area. The company launched a $1.5-million regional exploration program targeting McIntyre porphyryr, Coniaurum mine, Hallnor/Bonetal property, Wemore property south of the Bell Creek mill, Pamour North and the Hopson property near Nighthawk Lake.
The project, expected to span over the next 15 months, includes diamond drilling, geophysical work and evaluations. Drilling on the Pamour property began in mid-October. NDS Drilling has been contracted to drill the properties.
