Training for 170 new Weyerhaeuser Trus Joist employees began the first week of June at the Kenora Curling Club.

Training for 170 new Weyerhaeuser Trus Joist employees began the first week of June at the Kenora Curling Club. In marking the start of a three-week training session, mill team leaders and management concentrated on safety issues, job descriptions and a plant tour. Diversity, age, skills and industry knowledge will be factors in slotting prospective employees' career choices.

During the second phase of training, some employees will be assigned to strand lumber mills in Kentucky and Minnesota, while others will remain in Kenora to commission the equipment. Part of that training will involve mock production and computer-based instruction.
