Travel agencies in Thunder Bay are reporting a decrease of about 40 per cent in business following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. Recently the Canadian Association of Travel Agents requested a $300-million federal government bailout for the industry.
Across the nation there are about 30,000 people employed at travel agencies, 100 of which are in Thunder Bay.
Travel agencies in the area are predicting business should turn around in the near future.
