Sudbury will play host to the 2019 Mining and the Environment International Conference June 23-28.

The event is a joint effort of Laurentian University’s School of the Environment and Goodman School of Mines, and the Canadian Land Reclamation Association.

It will bring together technical experts from the industry, government and academia interested in the environmental aspects of mining. Participants are coming from around the world to address mine, land and waterways rehabilitation, biomining, waste management, and related environmental protection issues.

The event will feature short courses, technical sessions, workshops, panel discussions, field tours, a tradeshow, and social events.

Details about the 2019 conference are available at www.sudbury2019.ca. A full agenda is expected to be announced soon.

This will mark the seventh conference in the series, which was launched in 1995. Since its inception, more than 2,000 professionals have attended the events.
