Sudbury’s Alicia Woods, who designs coveralls for women, will pitch her product on the season premiere of the TV show Dragons’ Den on Oct. 15.

Woods launched Covergalls — a coverall tailored to fit a woman’s shape and meet her personal needs — in 2013 after being dissatisfied with the garments already on the market.

Highlights of her design include a two-way zipper, so women don’t have to fully undress to use the washroom and items in the top pockets will stay there. Velcro tabs around the waist and zippers along the length of the leg allow the back of the coverall to be taken down. Hidden zippers mean the average person can’t differentiate between a Covergall and a regular coverall.

Covergalls are made in Canada by Montreal’s LH Workwear.

Science North in Sudbury will host a viewing of the show on Oct. 15 in the Vale Cavern at a cost of $75 per person. Proceeds from the event will go toward a scholarship fund that supports female high school students entering post-secondary education for the mining, trades, oil and gas, and construction industries.
