Sudbury's innovation and development centre, NORCAT, has launched Entrepreneurship 101, a free educational program designed to deliver practical information for those starting or growing their business.
Starting Sept. 25, the 30-week program will feature live and web presentations delivered by some highly-touted entrepreneurs every Wednesday evening.
NORCAT is partnering with the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, one of the world’s preeminent innovation centres, Sudbury’s Regional Business Centre, and various academic institutions in this endeavour.
“Entrepreneurship is a key driver of job and wealth creation in Canada,” said NORCAT CEO Don Duval in a news release. “Providing a grass-roots education program that focuses on the practical realities of starting and growing a business is an integral component of supporting our entrepreneurial community. We are very excited for the would-be or existing entrepreneurs to learn, connect with like-minded peers, and ultimately grow their businesses.”
Upon completing the program, participants will receive a certificate in entrepreneurship and be eligible to compete in the NORCAT Upstart Competition for a $5,000 cash prize.
