The Superior East Community Development Corp. was approved for $800,000 in funding from FedNor, enough to keep the organization operating for the next three years.
Much of the money is going toward the development agency's operation, with $150,000 being allocated for the Local Initiatives Program for regional community economic projects.
The organization, which covers an area from Wawa to Chapleau, provides small business with advice, information and assistance to support new commercial ventures, as well as implement strategies to spur entrepreneurial and economic growth.
