The assistant commissioner for Ontario's Information and Privacy Commission, Tom Mitchinson, will be on site at Sault Ste. Marie's Algoma Water Tower Inn in September to outline the development of the province's new privacy law. The new legislation will cover, for the first time, Ontario's private sector. Mitchinson will discuss its likely impact on businesses, best practices for compliance and concrete examples of how privacy can be seen as a management tool, rather than a simple compliance issue.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is hosting the information breakfast, which takes place Sept. 11 at 7:30 a.m.
Advance registration is required. Register by contacting the chamber at 949-7152.
