The province is providing more than $7 million in funding to seven film projects in the North Bay area.
Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli made the announcement on Sept. 27.
Investments include:
- $3 million to Sienna Films Inc. to produce the television series The Trickster;
- $1.3 million to Peacock Alley Entertainment to produce the television series New Eden;
- $908,360 to Tanner Beach Productions to produce the television series Sunshine Sketches Homecoming;
- $500,000 to Christmas Basket Production Inc. to produce the television movie The Christmas Basket;
- $500,000 to Hideaway Pictures to produce the television movie Crossword Mystery Season 2;
- $500,000 to CastNorth Productions to produce the television movie Country at Heart; and
- $375,000 to 2569372 Ontario Inc. to produce the feature film Cold Strings.
"Our government is committed to strengthening the growing film and television industry in Nipissing," Fedeli said in a news release.
"This investment will drive economic development and job growth in the region and sends a signal to the world that Northern Ontario is open for business."
According to the province, the film and television industry generated $3 billion in production spending in 2017-2018 and supports 52,000 jobs across the province.
