Nipissing MPP Bob Wood announced on May 15 that the Canadian Ecology Centre has received $500,000 from FedNor for the implementation of digital subscriber data (DSL) service in 13 Nipissing area communities. The goal is to provide rural communities in the Nipissing district with high-speed Internet service at affordable prices. The DSL technology will be implemented in each community and will allow high-speed data to be transmitted through existing phone lines while maintaining the simultaneous use of telephones.
