Municipalities stretching from northwestern Ontario to Parry Sound will benefit from a $400,000 investment by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund aimed at enhancing recreation activities in the north.
The Municipality of Greenstone will receive $200,000 for the development of interpretive trails and boardwalks, as well as connected waterways, while Friends of Killbear, in partnership with the federal government and the Great Lakes Heritage Coast will receive $150,000 to develop year-round trails. The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority will receive $49,440 to enhance the current trail network.
