Sault College is adding five new micro-credential courses to its roster.
“Micro-credential courses offer flexible, self-paced learning opportunities to assist individuals looking to upskill and support evolving labour market needs,” the college explained in a news release.
Thanks to $250,000 in provincial funding through the Ontario Micro-credentials Challenge Fund, the following will soon be available:
- Business Analytics: Content Creation Using AI
- Business Analytics: Business Analysis Fundamentals
- Business Analytics: Microsoft Power BI Fundamentals
- Business Analytics: Data Analysis Using Power BI
- Business Analytics: Business Analysis Using Excel
The college consulted with industry experts and partners to get input on each course, ensuring relevance and practical application.
Lori Crosson, the dean of continuing education, e-learning, culinary and academic upgrading, said micro-credentials are an important tool for professional development.
“These courses provide flexible options for learners to gain critical skills and training to stay competitive and they also help to provide in-demand skills and knowledge that employers seek in industry,” she stated.
“This funding will help us provide targeted, accessible learning opportunities in these specific areas and we are grateful to the provincial government for their support of this important initiative.”
The new courses are expected to be available starting in January and will bring the total number of micro-credential offerings at the school to 190.
