Destination Northern Ontario has launched a new marketing committee to help guide the organization in drawing more visitors to the North.
The advocacy group announced its full slate of inaugural members of the Northern Marketing Committee on Dec. 18.
It includes:
- Chris McDonald, Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce
- Tanya Bédard, Tourism North Bay
- Robin Sutherland, Northern Skies Resort, Thessalon
- Denise Lysak, Lake of the Woods Brewing Company, Kenora
- Paul Pepe, Tourism Thunder Bay (chair)
- Colin Bruce, Algonquin Outfitters, Algonquin Highlands
- Renee Vezeau Beaulieu, Best Western & Outtarange Outfitters, Cochrane
- Brian Still, Stillwater Fishing and Tours, Manitoulin Island
- Heather Bot, Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association, Sault Ste. Marie
- Kyle Polesky, Brace Lake Outfitters, Nakina
- Ted Putnam, Hawk Lake Lodge, Kenora
More than 60 applicants applied to serve on the committee, noted the organization, which represents the interests of tourism representatives from the regions of Destination Northern Ontario (Regional Tourism Organization 13) and Explorers’ Edge (Regional Tourism Organization 12).
According to Destination Northern Ontario, tourism to the region generates $1.5 billion in tourism spending annually.
