The province is giving the Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters Association $480,000 to help promote tourism. The funding will help develop resource stewardship agreements between resource-based tourism operators and forest product companies.
The association will work with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation to hire a co-ordinator, complete 2,000 tourism business maps and to hire professional forestry and tourism experts to help negotiate resource stewardship agreements.
