Northern tourism destinations should receive better coverage in promotional materials and magazines through a new $4450,000-initiative through the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.
Timmins, North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay will partner to cross-promote each other's attractions and deliver better exposure of the North to larger tourism markets and at trade shows.
With last spring's disbanding of the Northern Tourism Marketing Co. by the province, the initiative will be administered under a northern tourism marketing interim steering committee, a temporary body, until a new tourism organization is formed.
