Seven communities in the Timiskaming region now have access to high-speed Internet access with the completion of $1 million worth of technical upgrades.
Cobalt, Englehart, Earlton, Black River-Matheson, Moonbeam, Porcupine and Schumacher now join Timmins, Kirkland Lake, New Liskeard and Haileybury with high-speed service.
The high-speed broadband service will provide Internet access that is 30 times faster than a regular dial-up connection, and split phone line connections to permit Web surfing without tying up phone lines.
