Delegates attending the fourth annual BEV In-Depth: Mines to Mobility conference can now register and get a first look at the agenda.
Scheduled to take place May 28-29 at Science North and Cambrian College in Sudbury, the two-day event draws participants interested in exploring challenges and solutions in developing a fully integrated battery electric supply chain.
This year’s conference opens on May 28 with a welcome dinner at Science North. Guest speakers for the event include Greater Sudbury Mayor Paul Lefebvre and Dr. Michael Pope, the co-director of the Ontario Battery and Electrochemistry Research Centre at the University of Waterloo.
Day two of the conference, which will be hosted by Cambrian College, features a morning keynote presentation by Priya Tandon, president of the Ontario Mining Association, a panel discussion, and presentations from Magna Mining, Adamas Intelligence, and Canada Nickel, followed by a series of technical sessions.
The afternoon portion will kick off with a live recording of the podcast The Unlikely Innovators featuring Lauren Tedesco, the chief operating officer for the Auto Part Manufacturers Association.
Participants will then hear from companies including Electra Battery Materials, General Motors, Vale Base Metals, Frontier Lithium, and Northern Graphite.
Throughout the event, participants can check out a range of battery electric-powered demonstration vehicles set up in the parking lot to showcase the technology.
They will also have an opportunity to take in a tour of the NORCAT Underground Centre in Onaping, west of the city.
BEV In-Depth is an initiative of Cambrian College, the City of Greater Sudbury, the Electric Vehicle Society, Frontier Lithium, and Laurentian University, in co-operation with the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation, Electric Autonomy Canada, and the Ontario Centre of Innovation.
