Quebec-based Atlas Copco Canada Inc. signed a letter of intent in April to purchase the product division of Layne/Christensen. Christensen Products will be added to the Atlas Copco Craelius Division to expand their business into the mineral exploration field. Layne/Christensen is an international mineral exploration contractor whose product division is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and is one of the world's leading manufacturers of diamond core drill equipment. The purchase will be completed by June.
