The Ministry of Labour is investigating a weekend incident that occurred at a Tahoe Resources’ Timmins West operation.

In an emailed reply, ministry spokeswoman Janet Deline said they were notified on June 9 that a worker was injured when an oxygen cylinder exploded.

The worker’s injuries are not known at this time.

No orders or requirements have been issued. The investigation is ongoing.

The Timmins West Mine is 18 kilometres west of the city.

Tahoe picked up Timmins West and the Bell Creek shaft when it acquired Lake Shore Gold in April 2016.
