A possible 150 jobs may be created with Norhcott Gold Inc. with a new open-pit mining project outside of South Porcupine.
The Horseshoe mine shaft is reopening to pump out the existing water, which fills 770 feet of the 840-foot-deep shaft.
Company officials say they plan on sending samples of ore to the lab to confirm their findings.
With the data they have accumulated already, administration believes they have grounds in establishing a mill close by. However, if the company cannot get a mill locally, they would consider transferring the product out for processing.
