Marz Kord has been named the new president at BESTECH, a Sudbury engineering firm.

The Sudbury engineering firm BESTECH has a new leader at the helm.

Marz Kord, a former mining exploration executive, was announced as company president on Nov. 18.

In a news release, BESTECH cited Kord’s “proven leadership focused on driving organizational advancement and operational excellence” as factors in his hiring.

“Marz’s appointment marks a new chapter for BESTECH,” board chair Denis Pitre said in the release. “His leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue our journey to create sustainable, client-focused solutions.

“Marz’s approach aligns with BESTECH’s mission to deliver high-impact results, and we are confident that he will lead the company to new levels of success.”

Kord said he was “thrilled” to join the company as president.

“BESTECH has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence and positive community impact. I look forward to working with our talented team to strengthen client partnerships, encourage innovation, and promote sustainable growth,” he said in the release.

“Together, we will build on BESTECH’s strengths and advance its role as a trusted leader in engineering and technology solutions.”

BESTECH offerings engineering services in a range of sectors, including mining; power; automation, electrification, and instrumentation; mechanical; structural and civil; hoist plant (including Spencer Engineering, acquired in 2023); and project management.
