If you have experience in the forest sector and want to play a role in shaping occupational safety policy in Northern Ontario, Workplace Safety North (WSN) wants your help.

The organization is now recruiting new members to join its board of directors.

WSN is a not-for-profit organization that provides Ontario-approved health and safety training and services to the mining and forest products industries.

Its board of directors helps develop workplace safety practices and policies across Ontario, ultimately to advance WSN's vision of ensuring every worker goes home safe and healthy.

Currently, the organization is looking for candidates with experience in the forest industry, with expertise in the areas of financial/accounting, legal, human resources, information technology, government relations, not-for-profit board, occupational health and safety, and public relations.

Board members serve a three-year term (2025–2028) and are expected to attend four board meetings per year, participate in virtual subcommittee meetings, and attend orientation sessions and prepare for meetings.

Board members are volunteers, and will be reimbursed for travel and business expenses.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 21, 2025.
