In Kenora, Trus Joist’s $260-million engineered-lumber plant will be up and running a few weeks ahead of schedule. Employees sent to sister mills in the United States are now back in Kenora training staff. The plant will employ just over 200 workers and is expected to be up to full production within a year or two, with the goal of producing nine million cubic feet annually. The 18-month construction phase employed 700 construction workers.
