A Sudbury contractor is moving forward with its plan to create what it calls affordable luxury housing in one of the city’s bedroom communities.

Wilson Hope Group announced March 19 it’s acquired 77 acres of property in Hanmer, located about 25 minutes north of the city, in conjunction with its partner, Bazinet Construction and Holdings Inc.

The property formerly housed Valleyview Mobile Home Sales & Service, which sold, leased and rented mobile homes.

“This acquisition is another step towards providing luxury living for everyone,” Tyler Wilson, a partner in Wilson Hope Group, said in a news release.

“Our goal is to provide truly affordable housing and make homeownership possible for everyone.”

The announcement comes after the news, last fall, that Wilson Hope Group is partnering with Supreme Homes, a modular home builder from Atlantic Canada, to bring modular housing to Sudbury.

Supreme Homes designs and constructs a range of upscale modular homes at its manufacturing facility in Tracadie-Sheila, NB.

Wilson Hope Group, operating under the subsidiary Mezza, conducts the consultation, preps the property, assembles the home once it arrives from New Brunswick, and installs all the finishing touches.
