Registration is now open for the Northern Ontario Ag Conference taking place Feb. 12-13 in Sudbury.

The second annual event is a joint initiative of the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance (NOFIA) and the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association.

It’s billed as an opportunity to bring together industry stakeholders to discuss best practices, network and learn.

This year’s theme is ‘Sharing Knowledge, Growing Together.’

Confirmed speakers for the event include Barry Potter, an agriculture development advisor representing the north region for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Potter will speak about ‘Tools for Unlocking Northern Ag Development.’

Sarah Epp, an assistant professor or rural planning and development at the University of Guelph, will speak on ‘Perception vs. Reality: Demystifying Agricultural Barriers in Northern Ontario.’

There will also be an event banquet on Feb. 12.

Full details, along with a schedule, will be available shortly.

Information on registration is available by contacting Cameron Ford at cameron.nofia@gmail.com.

Founded in 2014, NOFIA is a non-profit agricultural organization that aims to advance agricultural research and innovation in Northern Ontario.
