Ottawa is supporting Aboriginal business management training with $60,000 in FedNor funding.
FedNor minister Tony Clement made the announcement on May 22.
The money will allow the Thunder Bay-based Nishnawbe Aski Nation to develop, promote and deliver a minimum of 10 business management training mini-summits across Northern Ontario.
Through video and web conference technology, remote communities can access information provided at a national summit held earlier this year.
“Thanks to support from FedNor and the federal government, Aboriginal business owners will be well positioned to maximize the benefits of existing and emerging development opportunities, such as the Ring of Fire,” said Les Louttit, NAN's deputy grand chief in a statement.
