Carpenters’ Regional Council is recognized as a Northern Ontario Business Leader through its investment in expanding regional business news coverage. Thanks to its participation in the Northern Ontario Business Leaders Program we are able to enhance areas of content in Northern Ontario that were underserved in the past. Carpenters’ Regional Council proudly supports Women in the Trades and stories about women making a difference in the skilled trades in Northern Ontario.
The Carpenters’ Regional Council is part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and represents over 50,000 members across 31 Local Unions in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Territories.
Our members perform a wide range of work across the skilled trades, including carpentry, drywall, resilient flooring, scaffolding, formwork, trim, siding, welding, underwater construction, and many more. We also represent thousands of workers in the healthcare and industrial sectors.
With pride in our more than 140-year history, we strive for fairness in the workplace and family-sustaining wages and benefits. We lead the way in training, educating, and representing the next generation of skilled construction professionals. Our education and training advances leadership, skill, quality, productivity, safety, and attitude with the goal of creating a constructive culture within the construction industry and providing a competitive workforce for our contractors and owners. In addition to creating this culture within our membership, our core values are reflected in our work with local partners to help build our communities.
