The Sioux Lookout Airport’s objective is to enhance the airport’s role in the community as an economic catalyst while achieving a high level of operational excellence in its operation as a safe and secure facility.
The Sioux Lookout Airport is licensed as a public aerodrome and caters to the ever increasing demand of scheduled flights by Bearskin Airlines, Wasaya Airways, Perimeter Aviation and charter flights by Skycare Air Ambulance, Bamaji Air, Slate Falls Airways, Superior Airways and Thunder Air. The airport also serves as a base for Ornge, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS), private aircraft owners and several charters both from the United States and within Canada.
This airport also acts as a hub for passengers and patients for the Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre from 29 northern communities and 17 nursing stations, as well as a mid-point for sportsmen and cargo to the communities and fishing and hunting areas in the further north. Due to its valuable services to the northern communities, this airport is acting as a major transfer point between the southern and northern communities.
The Sioux Lookout Airport is a World Fuel Service Dealer supplying Jet A-1 with FSII. Av gas is available through Morgan Fuels.

After hours call-out fueling is available upon request at the current fee posted in the Airport Fees and Regulations document.The Sioux Lookout terminal building was renovated and expanded in 2018. Since 2018, passenger activity has been over 150,000 passengers per year. Since 2001, passenger activity has been over 100,000 passengers per year. Cargo levels are also increasing beyond the facility’s design intentions.
The Sioux Lookout Airport terminal building is open 7 days per week with hours of operation depending on the airline schedules.
