Keitha Robson, manager of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce, has further loaded up her trophy case after receiving one of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce's highest honours.

Robson was given the Burnie Gillespie Memorial Award during the Ontario Chamber of Commerce's annual general meeting and conference in Windsor on May 1.

The award recognizes a manager of a local Chamber of Commerce or Board of Trade who demonstrates excellence in chamber management and outstanding commitment to the community through volunteer service.

Having served as manager of the Timmins Chamber for 12 years, Robson has grown from a staff of two and a membership of 350 to a staff of four and a membership of 760. The Timmins Chamber has since provided more programs and services, while acting as a strong advocate for business.

Robson volunteers in the community by serving on a number of committees and boards. She serves as treasurer for the Foster Family Association of Timmins, and as co-chair for the promotion of the 100th anniversary for the City of Timmins.

“Chamber management inherently requires a commitment to community advancement and prosperity, but the Gillespie Award recognizes an individual who, like the award’s namesake, goes well beyond the daily requirements of the position," said Len Crispinio, president and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, in a release.
"Keitha certainly has achieved that standard. Her leadership has benefited the Timmins community, as well as the chamber network across Canada.”

Robson previously won the James Carnegie Award for Leadership from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Manager of the Year Award from the Chamber Executives of Canada.
