Stephen Davies has been appointed the new chief operating officer of Crowflight Minerals, which holds a trio of platinum group mineral projects in the Sudbury Basin and the Bucko Lake Nickel Mine near Wabowden, Man.
As a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines and Michigan Technological University with a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering, Davies has over 25 years of experience in mine operations, contracting and engineering through Ontario and Manitoba.
Davies has worked in senior operations positions with Alex MacIntyre & Associates, the principal contractors at Vale Inco's Thompson Mines, as well as Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting's operations in Snow Lake and Flin Flon, Man.
He has a wide variety of experience in mine capital development including shafts and hoisting, as well as production experience in underground mines of up to 6,000 tonnes per day.
