Northern Ontario is well represented on the newly appointed board of directors for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC).
Chamirai Charles Nyabeze of Sudbury and Rory Ring of Sault Ste. Marie are among those who will sit on the 2024-2025 board, which was announced on April 29.
“I congratulate and welcome the OCC’s newly elected board of directors — an exceptionally diverse group of business and community leaders from across Ontario,” said Daniel Tisch, president and CEO of the OCC, in a news release.
“Strategic governance is key to our success, and the diverse expertise and perspectives on our board will be invaluable as we set our sights on the future, developing and operationalizing a new strategic plan.”
Nyabeze is the director of the Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA) Network, a national research and innovation cluster whose aim is to speed up the commercialization of new technologies designed to make the mining industry more productive and sustainable.
Ring is the president at the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, which advocates for the interests of its members. In 2019, the organization marked 130 years in operation.
The OCC is an independent, non-profit advocacy and member services organization that represents the interests of 60,000 members across Ontario.
